Opening Concert
The opening concert in our beloved concert hall of the Brussels Conservatory includes masterpieces of 20th century chamber music. We will also tackle the magnificent Wesendonck-Lieder in an arrangement for large ensemble.
Sergey Prokofiev: Ouverture on Hebrew Themes
Arnold Schoenberg/arr. Anton Webern: Kammersymphonie
Igor Stravinsky: Pribaoutki
Richard Wagner/arr. Alexander Tarkmann: Wesendonck-Lieder
District Waks #2: Jonction
In the second edition of our biannaual District Walks we discover the Marollen district around the old train station of Kapellekerk. We start the tour in Les Brigitinnes, go back and forth underneath the railway tracks and pause in a nursing home, a public garden and the city's archives. At the end of the tour we already show a little preview of our collaboration with Met-X in their project MegafoniX.
Closing Concert
For the final concert of our festival we have invited percussionist Tom De Cock to join us in an adventurous program that explores the use of colours throughout the 20 and 21th century. No less then two pieces by our composer-in residence Henrik Denerin will be premiered, alongside masterworks by Pierre Boulez and Tristan Murail and a very colourful arrangement of Claude Debussy's Green and Spleen by composer Frederik Neyrinck.
Franz Schreker: Der Wind
Tristan Murail: Garrigue
Claude Debussy/arr. Fredrik Neyrinck: Green & Spleen
Henrik Denerin: Totenkopf (world premiere)
Pierre Boulez: Dérive 1
Henrik Denerin: denkbilden (world premiere)
