Katelijne Onsia started on the violin before switching rapidly to the viola. She studied at the Royal Conservatory in Antwerp with Leo De Neve, combining viola with choral conducting. Before graduating, Katelijne was already a member of the National Orchestra of Belgium and has continued her work as a chamber musician with the Scarlet Harp Trio, Enkabara Ensemble and the Fidelio String Quartet. A couple years ago she joined Odysseia Ensemble and the Haftcraft Ensemble.
Katelijne Onsia begon haar studies op de viool maar schakelde snel over naar altviool. Ze studeerde aan het Koninklijk Conservatorium van Anwterpen in de klas van Leo De Neve, waar ze studies altviool combineerde met koordirectie. Nog tijdens haar studies werd ze tuttiste bij het Nationaal Orkest van België. Ze is de vaste altvioliste van het Scarlet Harptrio, concerteert met het Enkabara Ensemble, het Fidelio Strijkkwartet, en is sinds een paar jaar ook verbonden aan het Odysseia Ensemble en het Haftcraft ensemble.
Katelijne Onsia commença à étudier le violon mais passa rapidement au violon alto. Elle étudia au «Koninklijk Conservatorium van Antwerpen» dans la classe de Leo De Neve, où elle combina ses études de violon alto à celles de direction chorale. Déjà au cours de ses études, elle devint tuttiste à l'Orchestre National de Belgique. Katelijne est altiste permanente du Scarlet Harptrio, joue au sein du Enkabara Ensemble, du Fidelio Strijkkwartet, et est aussi depuis quelques années membre du l'Ensemble Odysseia et de l'Haftcraft ensemble.
